Day 15 - Scottish Tour Part 1a

Edinburgh Castle

View from Edinburgh Castle battlements

Mons Meg

One massive cannon. The ammunition is bigger than my backpack which you can see in photo #4.

Wild Bunnies!

Resting place of James Hutton

The father of modern geology. I was on a guided "ghost tour" of the city in the evening when I happened to spot the plaque. It's located in the Covenanter's Prison.

Day 12 - Sunday

I went for a nature walk with my Uncle Paul, and my cousin Greg at Wandelbury Country Park.

Woolly cows??? Maybe I just haven't spent enough time on farms.

The plant life was very different from what I'm used to seeing on forest trails.

The River Cam in the village of Fen Ditton:
I was told this is where Oxford and Cambridge have their rowing competitions.

Day 10 and Day 11

I spent Friday and Saturday wandering around Cambridge visiting the museums, bookstores, and pubs.

Ooh... foreshadowing:
just a photo of a zoology course I'll get to do next year!

Hanging out with some distant cousins:

Punters on the River Cam:
My cousin Greg and I got to see many of the boats colliding with one another in just over a few minutes of watching.

Kings College and Chapel:

Day 9 - Thursday

Duxford Imperial War Museum:
I went to the war museum with my uncle Paul. Duxford is 10-15km south of Cambridge.

-the spitfire
-a section of the Iraqi supergun barrel
-last 2: a really big plane engine

The Blackbird:

Tanks and artillery:
This part of the museum is my favorite part. They did a great job of making things look realistic.

The Concorde:
This plane was far too big to get into one photo. They allow people to have a look inside, but the museum staff closed it a half hour before we made it to this part of the museum.
