Day 1 in the UK

This is my first productive day on my trip. The other two days from the start of my trip were spent on airplanes, and spending my time sitting around in silly airports. This blog is mainly to post photos of my trip. I'll be trying to update this every few days.

I went into Whitley Bay today, and had a quick walk around. The sea looks much the same, but the buildings look very different from when I was here 6 years ago.






The sedimentary process in action. I haven't come across this sort of thing before along the beach, so I thought it was worth a photo. The sand ridge was about 2 feet high.

Restoration and conversion efforts are underway. There is quite a bit of history regarding this site, and I have included a Wikipedia link for more info.
