Day 2 - Thursday
The Street:
Last night I went for a walk to the nearest grocery shop. The air smelt of the sea and tree blossom. The birds in the area consist of songbirds, and gulls. Lots and lots of gulls perching atop the roofs and chimneys of the houses.
The house next door:
The driveway is being redone. Yeah........ so what? Well, nothing sounds interesting until you understand how the original driveway was pulled up. There is one contractor working on it alone. The original driveway was a 4" slab of concrete and tar. The fellow pulling it up is using nothing more than a pick axe, sledgehammer, and wheelbarrow. I hope he has a sturdy back.
Life is good:
You can't get this in Canada. We'll, not without spending an awful lot of money at the British Imports shop in West Edmonton Mall. North American food habits have spoiled canned spaghetti with the addition of cheese, cheese, and more damned cheese!! Don't bother looking at all the different cans in the store aisles. There may be a dozen or so varieties of Heinz canned spaghetti, but they are all the same thing, except for a different shaped noodle.
